Dr Bernard Taylor is a well-known figure in the local Chatswood community. He’s been taking excellent care of residents’ dental care for 25 years from the Neridah Street Dental Surgery.
‘Living in Chatswood as I do, I have witnessed a thriving community increasing in energy and community spirit,’ says Dr Taylor. Here, we take a look at some of the local dentist’s personal highlights of the town and the services they provide to the Chatswood community.
Vibrant restaurant and cafe scene
While Dr Taylor loves to cook classic dishes or barbecue at home, he says he can’t compete with the wonderful Asian restaurants in Chatswood. He recommends The Golden Bo Restaurant on Archer Street or newly opened Mamak for Malaysian fare.
If you’re on your lunch break, Neridah Street Cafe serves fine Californian Rolls and freshly cut sandwiches. With a burgeoning coffee scene it’s easy to find a perfect cappuccino. Steam Engine and Rossini are stand outs, says Dr Taylor.

Chatswood Mall Market, operated by Willoughby Council, has been promoted on Local Market Guide for almost six years. Held twice a week at the busy Victoria Street Mall right in the heart of Chatswood, it features a changing selection of stalls each week.
It provides a popular meeting place for locals. The market offers something for everyone, from fresh farm produce through to gift ideas, fashion and home wares. Sample its incredible selection of street food from around the world, with an eclectic range of cuisine to suit every palette!
‘A mere 5-10 years ago the streets were emptied after hours,’ says Dr Taylor. ‘Whereas nowadays the streets are alive at night with people of all ages enjoying a safe environment.’ Chatswood Mall Market stays open until 9pm every Thursday and Friday. Pop by and see the community mingle and enjoy shopping by twilight. More
