‘Living in Chatswood as I do, I have witnessed a thriving community increasing in energy and community spirit,’ says Dr Taylor. Here, we take a look at some of the local dentist’s personal highlights of the town and the services they provide to the Chatswood community.
Vibrant restaurant and cafe scene
While Dr Taylor loves to cook classic dishes or barbecue at home, he says he can’t compete with the wonderful Asian restaurants in Chatswood. He recommends The Golden Bo Restaurant on Archer Street or newly opened Mamak for Malaysian fare.
If you’re on your lunch break, Neridah Street Cafe serves fine Californian Rolls and freshly cut sandwiches. With a burgeoning coffee scene it’s easy to find a perfect cappuccino. Steam Engine and Rossini are stand outs, says Dr Taylor.
Local Market Guide
Everybody loves a market. Find out when and where to pick up a bargain with Local Market Guide. This online directory lists all the market events happening throughout Sydney. It currently lists over 90 markets.
Browsers can search by day, location, and their preferred type of market. Listings include farmer’s and produce markets, artisan markets, pre-loved markets, and pop-up events. The site regularly profiles individual markets and stallholders so you can get to know your community members even better.
Chatswood Mall Market, operated by Willoughby Council, has been promoted on Local Market Guide for almost six years. Held twice a week at the busy Victoria Street Mall right in the heart of Chatswood, it features a changing selection of stalls each week.
It provides a popular meeting place for locals. The market offers something for everyone, from fresh farm produce through to gift ideas, fashion and home wares. Sample its incredible selection of street food from around the world, with an eclectic range of cuisine to suit every palette!
‘A mere 5-10 years ago the streets were emptied after hours,’ says Dr Taylor. ‘Whereas nowadays the streets are alive at night with people of all ages enjoying a safe environment.’ Chatswood Mall Market stays open until 9pm every Thursday and Friday. Pop by and see the community mingle and enjoy shopping by twilight. More

YOGA, especially when practiced in a heated room is widely acknowledged today to be the perfect complement to a wide range of sports and physical activities from rugby to golf; soccer to distance running. Sporting legends like Pat Rafter, The Waratahs, Phil Mickleson, Ryan Giggs and David Beckham practice yoga!
It is also the PERFECT activity for guys who are not sporty but need to move their bodies.
Yoga takes a strong, stiff man and makes him more flexible; takes a flexible man and makes him stronger. Makes an athlete less injury prone and a chair sitter more comfortable on his butt and on his feet. Takes everyone to new levels of comfort and confidence. Helps to tone and shape.
Yoga reduces stress and anger through muscular release and deep breathing. Assists in digestion and leads to better lifestyle choices.
Men who do yoga are more attractive to women. Period!
Start adding one or two hot yoga classes to your schedule every week. Right NOW AT THE DAWN OF THE NEW YEAR is the best time to start! As a younger man I often jumped out of bed in the mornings and ran on to the footy field or tennis court – only to regret not stretching out my hamstrings, hips and shoulders in the preceding days.
I often suffered from poor digestion, poor posture and irritability.
A regular yoga practice has literally CHANGED MY LIFE!
